The newest Boxing and MMA gym in Southeast Michigan opens next week with a three day grand opening that starts this Friday.

The Four Aces Fight Club will feature training in both combat sports in a 7,500 square foot facility at 22583 15- Mile Road, between Gratiot and Harper, in Clinton Township.

A three day grand opening is scheduled for this weekend with activities on Friday including the appearance of notable professional boxers Steve Forbes, Ronald Hearns and Anthony Hanshaw and boxing manager Jackie Kallen. Local musical artist Hush will perform and demonstrations in both boxing and MMA will take place. The gym promises 900 square feet of Swain mats and twenty different bags, including Muy Thai, grappling bags and throwing dummies, as well as basic fitness equipment and full locker rooms.

The new gym is owned by four men – three practitioners of the sports and one established businessman.

Professional boxer Luigi Gjokaj is a relative newcomer to the sport but a man of big ambitions. Sporting a 2-1 record in a career that started just 18 months ago, after a short amateur stint, the 23-year old fighter is interested in trying his hand in the caged arena as well as the square circle and has plans to start his own promotional company.

Asa Beard will be the head boxing instructor.

MMA fighter and coach Greg Parris is the primary Mixed Martial Arts instructor.

Paul Mauk brings his business knowledge, obtained throught experience as a bar and restaurant owner, to the group. He is the owner of The Detroit Pub, with locations in Detroit, Clinton Township and Mount Clemens.
