Big Dog Boxers Overrun Silver Gloves

The relatively new Big Dog Boxing Club dominated the 2008 Michigan Silver Gloves championships that were held January 5-6 in Pontiac.

The Port Huron club, in operation for under 18-months, walked away with 15 state champions following the two-day tournament and the team trophy after earning 94 points - a third more than second place winner Joe's Boxing of Monroe and more than twice as many as Warren's Dynamic Boxing.

Perhaps more impressive than the number of boxers or the number of awards was the number of Big Dog parents and supporters that attended the event. Big Dog could claim perhaps half of the crowd.
